A new bipartisan bill called the Ovarian Cancer IMPACT Act would require insurance companies to cover genetic testing for patients with a hereditary risk for gynecologic cancers while also expanding educational efforts. The bill calls for a reboot of a 20-year-old Centers for Disease Control and Prevention program, dubbed Johanna’s Law, that would provide federal funding for an educational campaign about gynecological cancers.
