Caulipower, a gluten-free and cauliflower crust frozen pizza brand founded by Gail Becker in 2016, has been acquired by manufacturer Urban Farmer, a portfolio company of private equity firm Paine Schwartz Partners. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but a release notes that Urban Farmer’s manufacturing expertise will accelerate Caulipower’s expansion across North America. The two companies began working together in 2016 when Urban Farmer became co-manufacturer for Caulipower’s first frozen crust pizzas. “How fitting that years after Caulipower disrupted the $6 billion-dollar frozen pizza category, our two companies are joining forces again in such a meaningful way,” says Becker, who will serve on Urban Farmer’s Board. Los Angeles-based Caulipower’s products are sold in more than 35,000 stores across the U.S.
