A new report by the National Abortion Federation highlights a sharp escalation in targeted hostility against abortion providers. The group’s 2025 Violence and Disruption report says death threats against clinic staff surged 113% from 2024 to 2025. Stalking incidents skyrocketed 111%. The Federation cited an increasingly emboldened anti-abortion movement compounded by the Trump administration’s decision to pardon 23 convicted extremists and to restrict future prosecutions to “extraordinary circumstances.” Providers also reported an increase in racially charged rhetoric. “2025 saw a consistent, intense continuation of the type of violence and harassment seen in recent years,” the report notes, “with significant increases in numerous categories.”
