All but four of the highest-paid female athletes make more money from endorsements than from on-field earnings. The Athletic compiled a list of the 20 highest-paid female athletes and found that Coco Gauff is No. 1, followed by fellow tennis players Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek. Gauff, for instance, earns almost 76% of her annual $33 million in earnings from endorsements. Several athletes depend almost entirely on off-field earnings for their entire salaries, including skier Lindsay Vonn, WNBA star Paige Bueckers and, most notably, freestyle skier Eileen Gu, who earns $23 million from endorsements and only $100,000 from her profession.
