European Parliament calls for better representation of women in health data and professional training

The European Parliament, the elected legislative institution of the European Union, has adopted a new report on gender inequities in health care, calling out the lack of female representation in medical research and clinical trials. “Women’s health has been under-researched, underfunded and too often overlooked for far too long,” the report’s author, Billy Kelleher, said in a statement. “Parliament is sending a clear message today: women’s health must move up the political agenda and be treated as the major health priority it is.”
