Exclamation mark: A double-edged sword for women

Women use exclamation marks more often than men! Three times as often, in fact! Why? In an attempt to come across as enthusiastic and friendly, of course! All of these statements are based on new research that will be published next month in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. The study found that people who employ this particular piece of punctuation may indeed come across as likable, but they may also be seen as lacking skills in the analytical thinking department. Ouch!
