A staggering number of children are losing health insurance because of federal spending cutbacks. The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families says child enrollment in child and adult Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program has already plummeted by 1.5 million since President Trump took office almost 18 months ago, adding that state data suggests that number will soon reach 2 million. “This is very problematic,” the analysis notes, “as when the number of children enrolled in Medicaid goes down, the uninsured rate tends to go up.”
