The daily, often unmeasured burden of managing household logistics, finances and family emotional needs often prevent women from seeking medical care. Iris Teleheath’s “Invisible Load Index” survey of more than 1,000 women finds that 70% say ongoing stress harms their mental health, yet nearly half note that their chronic burnout is dismissed as normal at home and work. “Too often, support comes only after distress has escalated,” says Laura Bauer, Iris Telehealth vice president of solutions. The Texas-based company recently launched an “integrated women’s health solution” that emphasizes behavioral health support during medical checkups.
