Forbes recognizes ‘America’s Most Powerful Women in Sports’

Forbes ranks Gayle Benson, the owner of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, No. 1 on its “America’s Most Powerful Women in Sports 2025.” Benson made history in 2018 when she became the only woman to own both an NFL and NBA franchise, taking control after the death of her husband, Tom Benson. The two teams are now worth a combined $8.35 billion. Sports betting company FanDuel CEO Amy Howe Is No. 2, and Nike Brand President Amy Montagne is No. 3. Nine current athletes and coaches appear on the ranking, with WNBA star Caitlin Clark the most powerful at No. 4.
