A former executive at financial services firm Citigroup has sued the bank over allegations of sexual harassment. Julia Carreon, a former managing director in Citi’s wealth management group, accuses the company of race and sex discrimination, a hostile work environment and wrongful termination. Carreon, who left Citi in August 2024 after three years, now serves as a contract strategic adviser for Veritas Wealth Partners. She wrote on her LinkedIn page on Jan. 27 that “the system is rigged for silence, but if women use our collective voices to Fight the Power, real change is possible.” Media reports caution that “the court has not made any findings and the company has not been found liable.”
