Gen Z women are breaking blue

Gen Z women powered the Democratic landslide during last week’s elections. According to news site The 19^th, women under the age of 30 overwhelmingly supported candidates in all regions across the United States. More than four in five voted for Democrat Abigail Spanberger for Virginia governor; 81% supported New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill; 84% went for Zohran Mamdani for mayor of New York City; and 85% supported California’s redistricting initiative that could give Democrats five more seats in the House of Representatives. The Guardian notes that Gen Z women “represent the most left-wing demographic in modern U.S. history.”
