Gen Z women powered the Democratic landslide during last week’s elections. According to news site The 19th, women under the age of 30 overwhelmingly supported candidates in all regions across the United States. More than four in five voted for Democrat Abigail Spanberger for Virginia governor; 81% supported New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill; 84% went for Zohran Mamdani for mayor of New York City; and 85% supported California’s redistricting initiative that could give Democrats five more seats in the House of Representatives. The Guardian notes that Gen Z women “represent the most left-wing demographic in modern U.S. history.”
