A woman in Georgia who took abortion medication has been charged with murder, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a controlled substance. FOX5 Atlanta reports that the woman, 31-year-old Alexia Zantail Moore, has been jailed since March 4 after taking eight misoprostol pills (an abortion medication) and Oxycodone, an opioid. The woman gave birth to a girl who later died. Georgia law bans most abortions once cardiac activity is detected, which is generally around six weeks. The law has been called among the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the United States.
