Chances are you’re eating in more and dining out less. FMI, The Food Industry Association says almost half of Americans now embrace a weekly mealtime tradition, while 36% eat dinner at home with their families every day of the week (generally around 6 p.m.) “Even as lifestyles evolve, shoppers are finding comfort and joy in routines that bring people together,” FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin says. “Food is more than just fuel. It’s a way to connect, celebrate and create traditions.” Shoppers are also prioritizing fresh foods, as 42% of grocery sales come from fresh departments, particularly meat and produce.
