Fourteen women are running for governor this year, making up a third of all gubernatorial candidates on the ballots and tying with the record set in 2022. In Tennessee, both candidates for major parties are women; and elections in New Hampshire and Oregon feature incumbent and challenger female candidates. Georgia also has the potential to elect the first Black female governor in U.S. history.
