The percentage of women CEOs and CFOs at Fortune 500 and S&P 500 companies has more than doubled the past decade. The numbers, however, remain low: The 2025 Cristkolder Associates Volatility Report finds that women now occupy 17.5% of CEO roles and 9.6% of CFO jobs. The services, health care and financial industries have all seen an increase in the number of women CEOs the past year, though the health care industry contains the lowest number (five) while the number of women CFOs in the consumer industry has reverted to 2015 levels. There are 667 companies in the 2025 Fortune 500 and the S&P 500.
