Most Americans dissatisfied with K-12 school quality, Gallup poll finds

Despite the fact that 92% of Americans believe that obtaining a good-quality education is important to overall success, only 32% said they felt satisfied with the quality of K-12 education in the U.S., a 2026 Gallup survey finds. This is the lowest satisfaction level reported since Gallup started tracking the measure in 1999. Parents with school-aged children also generally rated schools more favorably than adults without children.
