Gift cards are in. Regifting, not so much. Eighty-seven percent of Americans say gift cards are “very or somewhat acceptable,” and 88% say the same about cash, but that number dips significantly when it comes to recycled gifts. An AP-NORC poll says only 61% view regifting as appropriate, while 64% think it’s OK to gift secondhand items. Other fun findings: Forty percent of adults won’t stay up to ring in the new year, while women are more likely to leave their holiday decorations up after New Year’s Day. Women are also more likely to continue wearing holiday attire in January.
