The owners of the WNBA’s New York Liberty have reportedly sold shares in the team at a record valuation of $450 million. CluchPoint says new investors include Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts, philanthropist Oliva Walton and venture capitalist Amy Griffin. The news comes at a tense time for the WNBA, as the league’s collective bargaining agreement ends Oct. 31 with players and the league far apart over revenue sharing. More than 70 politicians have sent a letter to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver urging the league to bargain in good faith.
