Six-year-old breaks women’s world Rubik’s Cube speed record

A six-year-old girl has set a record as the fastest female in the world at solving 3x3 Rubik’s cubes, with an average solve time of under five seconds per cube. Six-year-old speedcuber Lian Yunzhi, from Chengdu, China, broke the women’s 3x3 average record twice in three days at World Cube Association-certified competitions in Wuhan and Guangzhou, posting averages of 4.52 and 4.27 seconds across five solves at the events, according to Chinese state media. Yunzhi knows more than 1,300 solving algorithms and practices for two to three hours each day, her mother, Lin Yangxi, said.
