Spanish Football Federation to cover egg freezing for women’s team

The Spanish Football Federation is paying to allow players on its national women’s team to freeze their eggs. The organization has reached an agreement with a specialized reproductive fertility clinic, with details to come later this month. Sportsin reports that the WNBA has also “incorporated family-planning provisions” related to adoption, surrogacy and egg freezing, while the World Tennis Association last year launched a maternity fund for egg and embryo freezing and in vitro fertilization treatment. It also notes that the National Women’s Soccer League began offering similar services, starting with the Racing Louisville team, back in 2021.
