A Los Angeles staffing agency has agreed to pay $185,000 to settle a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced that TEG Staffing (also known as Eastridge Workforce Solutions) will also provide injunctive relief after allegedly discharging an employee it had assigned to work at Feit Electric’s Pico, California, warehouse location because she was pregnant. The lawsuit charged that other pregnant employees had also been discriminated against since 2019. “Federal law includes robust protections for pregnant women that employers must comply with,” said Christine Park-Gonzalez, director of the EEOC’s Los Angeles district. The consent decree also provides a process for employees who worked for the company to file claims to share in the distribution of the $185,000 settlement.
