Girls who play sports are more likely to negotiate salaries, become leaders in the workplace and aim for senior leadership positions. That’s according to a recent study based on surveys with more than 9,500 people across the United States, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom — one of the largest studies of its kind. The research, commissioned by e.l.f. Beauty and Parity, also found:

  • Nearly 90% of women who participated in sports as youth and have been promoted at work say their sports skills helped them advance.

  • 98% of the pro women athletes surveyed say sports have helped them compete in life beyond the sports arena.
