Women’s soccer takes center stage in the fourth season of the hit series Ted Lasso, as the homespun coach takes the reins of a second division women’s “football” team in Richmond. Much of the cast returns, including Emmey Award winners Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein. The Independent notes that the season will delve into women’s issues including gender pay disparity, media coverage gaps and the dual pressures female athletes face. The upbeat sports comedy-drama, which took a three-year break, premieres on Apple TV Aug. 5 and runs weekly through Oct. 7.
