Upscale department store Nordstrom is going all in this holiday season, bringing back its holiday catalog that showcases 800 gifts. The Seattle retailer is also taking several steps to lure shoppers into stores, including opening festive gift shops in all locations and scheduling more than 1,500 events nationwide such as holiday breakfasts for the entire family and beauty “Glam Up Days.” The retailer will also bring Santa back to every store. The campaign, called “Oh What Fun,” also features several interactive experiences. An analysis notes that other major retailers are also using catalogs this holiday season to leverage nostalgia and differentiate themselves.
