Organic walnuts recalled

The Centers for Disease Control put a warning out Wednesday after an e.coli outbreak connected to organic walnuts sickened 12 people. All the patients obtained the walnuts from organic bins in natural food stores or co-ops in California and Washington state, though Gibson Farms, which has been linked to the outbreak, distributes in 17 other states.

Starbucks stock plummets

Starbucks shares opened 14% lower Wednesday after reporting rough second-quarter earnings, including a note that customers have pulled back on the frequency of their visits. Revenue was down 2% year over year to $8.6 billion. CEO Laxman Narasimhan blamed the macro economic environment, particularly around consumer spending.

Met Gala hosts announced

The biggest fashion event of the year announced its co-chairs with a cheeky video on Instagram Wednesday and the group is a mix of high fashion and pop culture. Vogue Editor in Chief and fashion icon Anna Wintour heads up the Met Gala lineup, along with actor and musician Jennifer Lopez, Euphoria star Zendaya, pop star Bad Bunny, and Marvel universe’s Chris Helmsworth.
