The International Women’s Media Foundation has begun tracking President Trump’s frequent attacks on female media members. Over the past decade, the group has documented 27 such attacks, including recent ones on NBC News journalist Kristen Welker and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. Fifteen incidents have targeted women of color and 11 have occurred so far this year alone. “Journalists covering the White House must be able to ask questions and be met with dignity and respect, not pejoratives and condescension,” says Elisa Lees Muñoz, president of the organization. IWMF says it is “galvanizing the journalism industry to push back against this rhetoric.”
