A brutal winter storm walloping much of the country snarled air traffic over the weekend, leading to disruptions at a scale not seen since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 11,000 U.S. flights were canceled and more than 18,000 delayed by Sunday afternoon, according to data from aviation analytics site FlightAware. It marked the most U.S. departures canceled in a day since March 30, 2020, when the record was set at 12,143 — more than half of all scheduled flights on that date.
