Women in the U.S. were significantly more likely than men to experience frequent fatigue in 2024, according to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Among women surveyed, 20% said they felt very tired or exhausted most days or every day during the previous three months, compared with 13% of men. Among young adults ages 18-34, 19.5% said they experienced frequent fatigue. Overall, 71.5% of adults reported experiencing fatigue at least some days. Adults experiencing frequent fatigue were more than three times as likely to report depression symptoms and twice as likely to report anxiety or cognitive difficulties.
