Amazon has launched a weight management program focused on integrating popular GLP-1 drugs used for weight loss into its One Medical service. The company says its goal is to connect GLP-1 management with primary care physicians rather than merely treating them as one-off prescriptions. Amazon notes that more than 40% of U.S. adults are considered obese, costing nearly $173 billion annually in medical costs. Amazon One Medical, launched in 2023, also recently rolled out perimenopause and menopause care. A recent survey found that one in eight adults in the U.S. now currently takes a GLP-1 drug, including 15% of women.
