The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy has launched a campaign called “No More Stiff Upper Lip” to call attention to mental health struggles in women over 50. A BACP survey found that two-thirds of women 50 and older have struggled with their mental wellbeing, with 87% keeping their difficulties hidden from friends and loved ones. The campaign website features personal stories of women touring the benefits of therapy, as well as a wellbeing quiz and links to therapists. The initiative is offering free limited-edition lipstick to “provide positive inspiration to those in need of support.” One woman, 58-year-old Marny, says therapy “transformed her life.”
