Channel Medsystems lands $30M to scale non-hormonal treatment for menstrual bleeding

Channel Medsystems has landed a $30 million Series C round to expand its platform for women with heavy menstrual bleeding and severe cramping. The Berkley, Calif.-based company will use the incremental funding, from InnovaHealth Partners, to expand its  commercial organization, educate physicians and patients and strengthen professional education and training programs. Its Cerene platform is a non-hormonal, incision-free endometrial cryotherapy treatment designed to reduce menstrual bleeding and cramping. The World Health Organization says up to 30% of reproductive-aged women suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding. “This funding enables us to bring Cerene to more physicians and patients,” Channel Medsystems President and CEO Nelson Whistance says.
