Longtime tech executive Clara Shih has launched an AI-centric company aimed at helping the Gen Z generation navigate the entry-level job market. In a LinkedIn post, Shih — who has spent the past two decades building AI at Meta, Salesforce and venture-backed startups — describes the New Work Foundation as a “platform demystifying what AI is doing to each profession.” Each episode will pair an industry hiring manager with a Gen Z worker to identify AI skills necessary to land a job. Shih says the motivation to start the New Work Foundation came from relatives and young people who “started coming to me asking how to get hired in this market.” At more than 8%, the Gen Z unemployment rate is about twice that of the national average.
