Julie Masino, the Cracker Barrel CEO who survived a heavily criticized rebranding last year, is resigning. The Tennessee-based fast-food chain announced July 27 that industry veteran David Deno would become the company’s new CEO, but that Masino would remain in an advisory capacity until Oct. 9. The restaurant faced intense criticism when it unveiled a new logo last August, with CBS reporting that the restaurant chain’s value plummeted by almost $100 million. It eventually reverted to its old logo after an intense public outcry. The company said Deno, who most recently served as CEO of Bloomin’ Brands (owner of Outback Steakhouse and other brands) was chosen after a “comprehensive succession planning and search process.”
