Disney more than doubled its ad revenue during the WNBA All-Star game last weekend for a second consecutive year. The Sports Business Journal notes that the game attracted 20 advertisers, with three-quarters of them new to the event and six new to the WNBA altogether. Disney Advertising Vice President of Revenue and Yield Management Jacqueline Dobies told the publication that the weekend served as a “barometer of health” of women’s sports. Events included a Friday night “Skills Night” with a three-point contest as well as the Saturday night All-Star game. Almost 20,000 fans packed United Center in Chicago, an all-time high for a WNBA All-Star game.
