Women’s participation in retirement plans is falling. A Dayforce report called “The Retirement Divide” says 76% of women set money aside in 2024, a slight drop from 2021, while men’s participation remained steady at 80%. Women involved in retirement plans saved on average $10,243, while those not participating saved $8,096. “We believe that this research should serve as both a wake-up call and a call to action,” writes Jason Rahlan, Dayforce’s global head of sustainability and impact. “The evidence is clear that not everyone is benefiting equally from recent gains in addressing our nation’s retirement insecurity crisis.” The report calls on employers, providers and policymakers to urgently address the retirement savings crisis.
