Stagnant LinkedIn traffic? Try telling the algorithm that you’re a man and see if your reach improves. That’s the concept behind a new trend accusing the platform of favoring men who use “bro-coded” business jargon (think words such as “drive,” “transform” and “accelerate”). Women who have tested the theory say they’ve changed their gender to “male” and saw a boost in LinkedIn visibility. Others saw improvement after rewriting their profiles to include more business bro buzzwords. LinkedIn says its “algorithm and AI systems do not use demographic information (such as age, race, or gender) as a signal to determine the visibility of content, profile, or posts in the Feed.”
