Palomar Health CEO Diane Hansen has volunteered to slash her overall pay by roughly $2 million over the next four years to help the California-based health system shore up its finances. Becker’s Hospital review says the idea came from Hansen herself. The San Diego-Union Tribune reports that the system withdrew a proposed 20% salary bump for Hansen last month that would have increased her salary to $2 million per year, adding that Palomar lost $165 million during its previous fiscal year. Hansen was named permanent CEO in 2018 after previously serving as interim boss for a short period.
