Would you trust AI more than your doctor? You just might. An analysis from UK health company Aide Health finds that patients are “significantly more forthcoming” with AI, saying they’re more comfortable with disclosures and impressions of their health habits. Almost half say they’re OK with AI helping identify health risks through wearable devices, though only slightly more than a third say technology will positively influence the quality of care. The report says AI is health care’s “ambiguous stranger,” noting that research consistently finds that patients fear judgment from health care providers, as 70% admit that they withhold medically relevant information. Aide Health calls the use of AI in treatment a “trust challenge.”
