A 2026 Novoresume survey of 2,000 Americans found that 45.3 percent of men admit to lying on a resume, while only 29.6 percent of women do. The same survey found that, specifically, men are three times more likely to claim accomplishments that weren’t theirs, two times more likely to inflate their years of experience, and 2.4 times more likely to use AI to build fake credentials.
