A record 55% of Americans say their finances are getting worse and almost a third cite inflation and high prices as their top financial problem. A Gallup poll says energy costs, housing and health care round out the top four concerns. Sixty-two percent of people are concerned about not having enough money for retirement, and 60% worry about being able to pay for medical expenses if they face a major accident or illness. Additionally, 54% are uneasy about their investment returns and whether they'll be able to maintain their standard of living. The annual poll was conducted between April 1-15.
