Supreme Court refuses to hear Trump’s appeal of E. Jean Carroll verdict

The Supreme Court has refused to take up an appeal by President Trump seeking a review of the $5 million verdict against him in the sexual abuse and defamation case filed by journalist E. Jean Carroll. The SCOTUSblog notes that Trump asked the Court in November to hear his appeal and is expected to receive another plea from Trump in a separate defamation case against him involving Carroll in which a federal appeals court upheld an $83 million ruling. Carroll recently released a documentary, Ask E. Jean, that chronicles her life and covers in detail her legal battles against Trump.
