The company behind salon management platform GlossGenius is making a bold move beyond beauty. Now rebranded as Genius AI, the New York-based startup has raised $44 million in Series D funding, with the company now valued at $1.15 billion. Founded by identical twins Leah Cohen-Shohet and Danielle Cohen-Shohet, the company plans to bring its AI-powered business tools to several industries, including health care, wellness and fitness. The platform, which already has 125,000 customers, automates tasks such as scheduling, payments and marketing. “We believe technology in our space will do the opposite of what people fear,” Danielle Cohen-Shohet says. “One of the most powerful things AI can do isn’t to replace what makes us human. It is to give us room to be more human.”
