A federal judge in Rhode Island yesterday ordered the Trump administration to send SNAP payments in full to states today, and a trade group has launched a clearinghouse for detailed SNAP information in all 50 states. The resource from FMI – The Food Industry Association, contains links to every state’s SNAP information, including actions states are taking to fund the program. "As an industry that serves families in every community in America, we know firsthand how essential federal hunger and nutrition programs like SNAP and WIC (Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Programs) are to customers experiencing difficult times,” FMI chief Public Policy Officer Jennifer Hatcher says. Forty-two million Americans depend on SNAP, and an estimated 63% are women. The program was formerly known as “Food Stamps.”
