The Trump administration has threatened to cancel federal contracts unless contractors end all forms of DEI initiatives. The executive order, issued March 26, gives contractors and their subcontractors 30 days to end any programs, and for those not in compliance, “the contract may be canceled, terminated or suspended in whole or in part, and may be declared ineligible for future government contracts.” The executive order also threatens to bring actions under the False Claims Act against those who don’t comply. The move is just the latest in the administration’s war on DEI initiatives, which have also targeted federal agencies and higher-education institutions.
