Formidable recently laid out the challenges facing Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen as she finds herself in a battle with President Trump over Greenland’s sovereignty, but it turns out the president’s interest in the country has had a positive effect in one regard. Axios notes that Frederiksen’s left-center Social Democrat party has “seen a dramatic surge in poll ratings just months after awful results in last year’s local elections,” noting that a Megafon survey shows overall support of 41% for the party, which would result in 73 parliament seats. A previous poll showed the party winning just 32 seats. Frederiksen was first elected in 2019. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s poll numbers also shot up when President Trump mentioned annexing Canada.
