It took a woman in Houston two years to buy a house after other buyers outbid her 20 times. Realtor.com notes that Raysall Wiggins was more often than not outbid by institutional investors, something the site calls a rarity as it accounts for just 1% of all single-family home sales across the United States. Wiggins has become somewhat of a national celebrity after President Trump referenced her during his recent State of the Union Speech while touting his crackdown on institutional homebuyers. The site says Wiggins, whose budget rose from $220,000 to $250,000 out of necessity, was outbid by as much as $38,000 in cash.
