Women are 1.75 times more likely to choose primary health care than men, though 25% say they’ve been treated unfairly by a health care provider. Research from Ingeborg investments — a company that backs early-stage startups founded by women that empower motherhood, career and financial security — notes that women drive 60% of the estimated $2.1 trillion that will be spent on care in the United States this year. Spending on GLP-1 drugs skyrocketed 500% between 2018 and 2023, and out-of-pocket spending is projected to rise almost 5% annually through 2032. Interestingly, 90% of Americans turn to social media as a primary source of health care information.
