Women accounted for just 26% of AI-related hires last year, compared with 50% into non-AI occupations. New LinkedIn research finds that AI job postings have roughly doubled the past three years, with the typical AI job paying about $177,000 annually, compared to $80,000 for a non-AI role. Women’s representation is even lower in several high-paying AI jobs, including head of AI, where women hold just 20% of roles, and member of technical staff, at 18%. Across 27 countries, women hold just 13% of C-suite AI leadership positions. LinkedIn notes that, “while AI is becoming an increasingly important source of career growth, women aren’t being afforded these opportunities.”
