Women account for just 29.7% of creators in the music industry. A new analysis by data platform ROSTR and the nonprofit She Is The Music analyzed more than 500 record labels, publishers, management firms and booking agencies, finding that women also account for only 26.7% of managers and 25.9% of agents. The report, though, notes that “parity is possible,” adding that 63 companies have rosters that consist of at least 50% women (the report dubs them the 50% club), providing “the clearest evidence that balanced representation is achievable across categories, markets and roster sizes.”
