Women are launching businesses at record rates and now own almost 41% of all businesses across the United States. Wells Fargo’s 2026 “The Impact of Women-Owned Businesses says, the 15.7 million businesses owned by women employ 12.6 million people, or 9% of the U.S. workforce, and generate $2.3 trillion in revenue. Between 2022 and 2025, women-owned businesses grew by 12.1%, nearly twice the rate of those owned by men. The report finds, however, that women entrepreneurs continue to face significant challenges, including access to capital, under-representation in key decision-making spaces and a lack of educational opportunities. Just 9% employ others, compared to nearly 20% of those owned by men.
